The Dutch filmmaker, Michael Dudok de Wit, has been selected as a juror for the 11th Tehran International Animation Festival (TIAF) in Iran.

Mohammad Reza Karimi Saremi, the secretary general of this year’s edition of TIAF, announced that Michael Dudok de Wit, who won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for ‘Father and Daughter’, will come to Iran to judge films taking part in the international section of the festival.

He added that the Dutch filmmaker will held a conference on the last day of the event where he would talk about his works.

Last week, Hamed Jafari, Ravanbakhsh Sadeqi, Farrokh Yekdaneh, Sadat Rahimzadeh and Amir Mehran from Iran were named as the jury members of the 11th edition of TIAF.

According to the event’s website, the festival aims at “creating an appropriate ground for exchange of ideas, thoughts and experiences by purposeful collection and presentation of artworks, spotting potentials and encouraging new comers to create and innovate, and developing abilities by adopting new attitudes and techniques in order to reach a higher quality.”

The 11th Tehran International Animation Festival will be held by the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults on March 3-7, 2019.
